Free weekly virtual 1-hour introductory coding course for 3rd-6th grade students.
Service Description
Sign your kids up for our Group Introductory Coding Class where they will learn how to code, work on digital and media literacy, collaborate on coding activities and play interactive games. Led by UC Santa Barbara data science student, this 10-week virtual course is the perfect opportunity for kids to develop their skills and knowledge in coding: learn the necessary vocabulary, be exposed to basic common coding languages such as Block and Python, show off their skills on platforms including Scratch and Code.org. Over the 9-week program, they will learn how to code and become excited to work on this skill. Commit to attending all 9 classes and watch them thrive! Disclaimer: By enrolling in tutoring services provided through our program, you acknowledge and understand the following: 1. Tutors are UCSB students and members of our club who are volunteering their time to support elementary and middle school students remotely. 2. Tutors have not undergone a Live Scan or a thorough background check. 3. It is the responsibility of parents or guardians to ensure their presence or supervision during all tutoring sessions to promote a safe and effective learning environment.
